Ludwig Boltzmann
This stamp was issued in Austria in 1982 at the occasion of the 75th anniversary of his death. L. Boltzmann was primarily physicist but hold also the chair for mathematics for several years at the university of Vienna.

Christian Andreas Doppler
The Lexikon bedeutender Mathematiker (lexicon of outstanding mathematicians) (Verlag Harry Deutsch, 1990, Thun – Frankfurt a. M.) declares C. A. Doppler also as a mathematician. He made his most remarkable discovery in 1842 in the field of optics that now bears his name. The 150th anniversary of this event was the reason for issuing this stamp by the Austrian Post Service.
